Task Description
The specific goal of this proposal is the development of a software system to provide management decisions and consulting (advices) to farmers, cooperatives researchers, environmentalists, politicians, economists and other end users, using digital cutting–edge technology within the framework of PRECISION AGRICULTURE (PA). The objective of the product (software) under development is to optimise primary production and product quality and to minimize any loading of the environment with polluting production inputs, so that system’s sustainability is achieved through optimal management.
The innovation of PA refers to: a) digital mapping of variability for important properties of soils and plants affecting the overall system’s productivity, b) systemization of the variability and development of “management zones” with similar properties, c) variable rate application of inputs based on the requirements for each management zone.

Expected Results
The essential expected results will be the use of low inputs, the increase of management efficiency and the production system’s sustainability. The results and the proposed management practices are in complete harmonization with the Codes of Good Agricultural Practices (C of GAP), the proposals for a Reformed Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the Integrated Agricultural Production systems and the management of alternative/organic/biological agriculture.
